Scott McDougall

Scott McDougall is the President and Chief Executive Officer of TerraChoice, North America’s premiere environmental marketing firm. TerraChoice helps environmental leaders win market share, and thereby helps move the entire market towards sustainability.

Scott is a biologist by education and has devoted his career to management and marketing in the environmental field. Before he joined TerraChoice in a fulltime role, Scott served on the TerraChoice Board of Directors and was the Regional Vice-President at Jacques Whitford Group, a North American science and engineering consulting firm.

He is widely known as an environmental industry expert.  He has contributed to several high-profile publications and written feature articles on an ongoing basis for a variety of purchasing and other publications that focus on green issues.  Most recently, under Scott’s direction, TerraChoice released a report on greenwashing in the consumer marketplace, “The Six Sins of Greenwashing” which has garnered widespread media attention with features in the New York Times, NPR Radio, GreenBiz and NBC Universal’s ‘Green Is Universal’. 

His recent appointments include: Director of the Ryan’s Well Foundation, Member of the Advisory Board to Earthcycle Packaging Inc., Director of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada, Director of Bytown Brigantine Incorporated, Member of the Advisory Board of the University of Ottawa Professional Training Services, Member of the Environment Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Ad Hoc Committee on Urban Land Trusts in Ottawa, Member of the National Issue Table on Climate Change International Flexibility Mechanisms and, Co-chair, National Working Group on International Emissions Trading.
